Kitchen Cabinet Installation Process

Final selections and the cabinet schedule confirmed, appliance specifications locked, removal and disposal responsibility agreed, delivery access checked, a conditioned indoor space prepared for the cabinetry, and any wall, electrical or plumbing work coordinated.

Close to the installation date rather than far ahead, so the household is without a kitchen for as little time as possible — but early enough that any wall damage found behind them can be addressed before new cabinetry is set.

Clear the space entirely, protect adjacent flooring and doorways along the delivery path, confirm the finished-floor decision, make sure utility locations are known and accessible, and leave a clean, dry surface for level lines and fastening.

After the base cabinets are installed, leveled and stable, because the template has to match the cabinets as set. Sink and faucet selections should be finalized before templating so cutouts are correct.

At the end of the cabinetry work, typically in a final pass once the boxes have settled in place and countertops are in. Hinge adjustment, drawer alignment, hardware installation and touch-ups all belong to that stage.

Countertop installation, then backsplash, plumbing reconnection, electrical trim-out and appliance connections according to scope, followed by the final cabinetry walkthrough for alignment, operation and finish touch-ups.
